Mowing the lawn

I got this cute little lawn mower at a lawn sale today for only $1. Preston looks like a natural mowing the lawn and with only one hand too. Craig can't wait till he can take on that task for him.

Driving

I don't even want to think about Preston being able to drive one day:( I remember when I was learning to drive and my mom would be sitting in the passenger side with her foot out ready to brake if I couldnt in time(she didn't even have a brake on her side).

Climber

Preston within the last couple weeks has been pulling himself up on anything that he can. It is so fun to watch. He has gotten a lot of boo boo's which makes me feel helpless, but he is getting better at it everyday. He gets so frustrated when he falls.........it's really cute:) Did I mention that he knows how to crawl the right way? When he sees something up high he gets up and crawls toward it. When he sees something down low he resorts back to his army crawl.

Hand stand here we come

Preston loves to do this little move. I don't know if he is trying to do a hand stand or a somersault but he looks cute none the less.

Happy 31st Birthday Craig

Today is Craig's 31st Birthday!!!!! He is at work right now working a 12 hour shift. Preston and I had big plans on getting him cupcakes and balloons and bringing them to his work but as I was driving down our road it looked like my car was slanting so I went back home only to find I had a flat tire. I decided to make him a Marble Cake with Chocolate drizzle by scratch instead. I have never made it before so I hope it turns out. Preston made him a card. Complete with baby drool and cheerio crumbs.
Craig, I love you so much and am so happy that I get to spend this life with you. Each year we are together is another day in paridise. Thank you for your unconditional love. Preston and I miss you today and can't wait for you to come home and celebrate your Birthday. We love you,Shelley and Preston

Crazy hair

Preston's hair is getting so long these days. It keeps getting lighter too. We actually did cut it 3 times already. It is growing like a weed. I love playing with it and Craig likes to style it when it is wet.

I thought for sure Preston would have curly hair cuz Craig and I both did as babies but it sure doesn't seem like he will at all. I am happy about that:)

Random photos

Here are just some random photo's of Preston being cute while at the hospital to see his new cousin. The top 2 pictures are at home. He is enjoying walking with help as you can see with his Daddy, Grandma K and cousin Emma. He can stand for quite a bit now while holding on to something too. I don't know why but these pictures of him make him look like such a big boy.

Sophia Sky

Sophia Sky was born yesterday at 3 pm to Craig's brother Ryan and his wife Molly. This is their 2nd child and 2nd daughter. She was 8lbs 3oz. Isn't she just a little doll:) This makes 2 girls and 2 boys on Craig's side of the family. Everyone is now asking us when our 2nd will be.............................what do you think? Preston wasn't too thrilled with me holding another baby.

Priceless

Last night Preston was having a hard time falling asleep so I just put him in his crib and started to clean up the living room. He started to get louder and louder with his crying so although I was looking forward to finshing cleaning up the house so that I could relax and dig into a snack, I went in there, laid on the floor and held him. He laid his head on me and I started to rub his back. He started to humm and 10 minutes later he fell asleep in my arms. I closed my eyes and thanked the Lord for giving me such a precious child to hold and for the time I get to spend with him. I opened my eyes and looked at him and he was smiling in his sleep. The house work and my snack weren't a priority anymore.

New table

Boy did we get a good deal.................... After Preston's doctors appointment we decided to go to a going out of business furniture store to look around and we ended up with this new table. It is oak and the chairs are padded. We got 65% off the sale price. Lets just say we got a steal of a deal. We were using my aunt's old table from when she and her husband first got married and it was time we had a new one. While Craig put it all together Preston, Maddie and I read a book (Preston's favorite past time). We can't wait to entertain next weekend with our new table.

P.S. Thanks Dad K for hauling the table out here and for putting together the chairs.

9 month doctor visit

Preston had his 9 month doctor visit today. The doctor said he is doing very well for his development. He wasn't too sure of his doctor this time and cried when he was checking him. The doctor was happy we had a nickname for Preston which is Presty Pie(amongst others). He said he worked with a child psychologist years ago and indicated that the parents to worry about were the ones that didn't give their children nicknames. He said nicknames are a sign of love according to the child psychologist he worked with.
We thought he had to get shots so we gave him Tylenol before hand and he didn't even get any this time. He was a good sport.

More pool fun

Today we met Heather and Connor, Sarah and Caleb and Amanda and her girls at the pool. Preston brought shovels and buckets for the boys. It had been a long time since Preston got to spend time with his buddy Connor. Don't Preston and Connor look so cute sitting on the lounge chair together?

Standing

Preston has been learning how to stand on his own this week and he likes to stand in his crib. He seemed pretty shocked the first time at what his room looked like from way up there. He even walked along his crib while standing. It was a lot of fun to watch. He is becoming so independent with his crawling, eating, and now standing.

Cool Whip

Yep thats right.............Preston is playing with Cool Whip. He had sooooooooooo much fun. He was screaming with delight and couldn't have been any happier. He kept squishing it in his hands. It was another rough day for Preston with his teeth. I just saw this afternoon that another is popping through. That makes 4 on the bottom and 2 on the top. I picked up some baby orajel today. We will see how that works for him. If not, I will just resort back to the Cool Whip.
In the top picture he was trying to give me some cool whip. That has been his new thing this month. He trys to put everything in OUR mouth.

Shhhhhhhhhh don't tell Daddy

Preston is modeling his new outfit I just got him................would you believe I only spent 5$ on the whole thing. I got his shirt on clearance and Gap and his cut off shorts are from Old Navy. He is such a little stud. It matches his eyes perfectly. Oh and Heather, I got yet another pair of flip flops. They were only $3. Can't wait to show you:)

Play Place

Craig is working tons of overtime at the hospital and this week he is working 56 hours. If you work in the medical field you know that's not just any 56 hours either. Well today Preston and I went to the play place and tried to meet some other babies. There wasn't any his age and none of the parents were really friendly so we didn't stay too long. What is it with people these days!!!

Thats my boy

Preston is going right for the veggie's. What a good boy he is. We got so many veggies at the Farmer's Market last weekend and now I have to find recipes to use everything before they bad. Hopefully next summer we can start a garden of our own.

First time feeding self finger food

So I don't know when exactly babies feed themselves but for awhile now I have been putting finger foods on Preston's tray and up until yesterday he just waited for me to feed them to him. He has been feeding himself ever since. He is so cute when he doesn't get it in his mouth, he gets mad and growls. While he is eating one thing, he gets another one in his hand ready to go.

Whatever it takes

Preston is not having fun with his top two teeth coming in so I have been resorting to anything to help keep his mind off of it so I can get some things done without him whining and trying to pull himself up on my leg. Here he is in my dresser drawer eating my checkbook. The bottom picture is him crying when I took it away.

By the way, does anyone have any ideas on how to keep him from grinding his teeth?

T.P.

It was only a matter of time until Preston got ahold of the T.P. I have noticed him looking at it and while I was on the phone today he made his great escape into the bathroom to the T.P. holder and had some fun while Mommy was away. He looked so cute when I came in that I had to get the camera and get him in action.
